I started the business 16 years ago, having enjoyed a career in MD, GM and SD roles across various countries in a FTSE100. Having studied a very people focused MBA, back when they were quite rare (I was born the same year England won the world cup), I took responsibility for Group HR, where my passion for making a difference to the way people engage with life and work, was honed. I’m a member of The British Psychological Society and am a leadership personality profiler and successful executive coach.
My wife says that I put football first, but we’ve been together for nearly 22 seasons. The campaigns of 98 and 2001 were unforgettable, because 9 months after the start of both seasons, along came my 2 cup finals. These teenagers now teach me every day, what a great coach needs to be, to make any impact at all! Oh and I’m a glutton for an old car (random I know).
My job is to put our people first, to set the strategy, pace and direction of the business and to keep us moving towards the big goals and ambitions that we share. #DreamBig
I sort out the operations in the Dream Manager business (perhaps ironically given I’m a wannabe doctor).
My role in the Dream Team is in equal measures pacey and varied, challenging and stimulating, and I love it. You might find me developing and implementing new software one day, recruiting the next…and the day after that picking up any of the tasks that Mike doesn’t want to do!
Being naturally organised, even my kids are colour coded; there’s a purple 17 year old, a green 15 year old and a red 10 year old, with a household diary to match.
The dream I’m currently planning is a family tour of the west coast of America.
I’m a creative individual and marketing comes as second nature when it’s a service or product I believe in. I’ve experienced all sides of marketing from agency through to Marcomms for large and small businesses, but since Autumn 2015 I’ve taken my place on the marketing side of the Dream Team office.
I’m hugely energetic which is maybe why I’m the one who says ‘how high?’ when Mike says jump, but it’s because I find the programme inspiring!
Having already travelled extensively, and lived in Singapore, the dream I’m working on right now is putting down roots at my beautiful rural cottage and adding to my family… a Cockerpoo puppy!
I am the numbers girl! My job is to make sure everything adds up and that the bills are paid. With many years spent working in Management Accounting and Business Support in sectors as diverse as Airlines, Shipping and Financial Services it was a huge, but welcome, change to find myself organising playdates for my 3 children rather than budgets and forecasts.
Although safely ensconced back in the world of numbers my role within the Dream Team is an exciting new direction for me.
My dream is to finish the 100K Thames Path Challenge this year without too many blisters and still able to stand at the end. If the training walks are anything to go by that is a bigger dream than it might seem at first glance!
As the newest member of the team I’m just starting out on my journey, already dreaming big of the work/life balance I aspired to achieve when I left the corporate world a year ago. In between then and now, having always wanted to be a chef and being properly trained, I lived out that dream deliciously by achieving a Diploma in Chef Skills & Cooking.
It was good training for joining The Dream Manager Programme in Business Support; a good chef works as part of a team, deals with multiple tasks and uses various skills and techniques to achieve their goal. Having said that, it’s not uncommon to hear requests in the office for my cooking delicacies as well as my administrative support…
I have been living dreams for more than 20 years since my first experience in Life Change programmes in the Mobile Telecoms business in the 1990s where I was a “Pioneer” Leader, setting the example for others to follow. Since then, my Dreams led to being MD for ten years of my own highly successful business in Alternative Health and Well Being. The last few years have been devoted to my family and teens now off to Uni.
I’m still busy dreaming; in the short term improving my health and fitness for long walks during my travel plans, which include a tour of India. In the longer term I’d like to design a healthy food range.
